July 11th

Every year, July 11th comes around.

With monotonous regularity.

Every year, at the beginning of July, I think, "This will be the year that I won't remember ... this will be the year that it'll slip my mind ... and it will be the 14th or 15th before I remember .."

But it never happens like that.

Not in 33 years.

Not once has it passed me by.

Am I going to die, having never forgotten.

It's obvious to me you need a hug from your sister---who is as slow on the uptake as ever, and never around when you need her. But the penny did finally drop---with a very loud "clunk." In loco sisterus you could drain a nice bottle of wine. Or two. Or, even three, if necessary.

If you can't forget, remember with acceptance...

Thank you all for your comments.

July 11th is a small, unspoken of, can of worms. Yesterday, I really needed to vent my frustration at my brains inability to hit the delete button.

And Lee, of course, the answer is nothing. Having hauled it out and looked at it, worried it, analysed it out of existence and had closure on a lot of its elements .. it STILL manages to poke its nasty little head up every year.

There is an outside chance that I have a contrary brain.

Pauline, the acceptance, I think I have its patience that I have a wee problem with ...

Thanks again.

I hope that July 11th will miraculously transform into a happy occasion for you that you might look forward to it every year instead :)

Thank goodness that it is just one day of the year and 364 other mornings greet you.

I don't know what the significance of July 11th is, but I'm so sorry that you have a hard time with it.

I send you warmest wishes for peace, within and without, and happy memories, old and new, to assuage the pain.
